Terms of use & privacy notes
Plain-language rules for using Recombinant. This page is maintained by the app owner and is not legal advice — if you need formal terms for a commercial deployment, have a lawyer adapt it.
1. What Recombinant is
Recombinant is a workbench for recombining STEM and ART concepts into new ideas. You provide a purpose, we propose concepts, and an AI helps you synthesize hybrids. You can use it anonymously or sign in to save ideas and open collaborative worlds.
2. Ownership of your ideas
You keep full ownership of the concepts, purposes, and ideas you enter or generate. By saving an idea to a public world you grant other signed-in users of that world the right to view, remix and edit it inside Recombinant. Ideas in private worlds are only visible to you.
The site's design, code, name and visuals are © 2026 Recombinant. You may not clone, republish or resell the interface itself without permission. Screenshots for reviews, teaching and criticism are welcome.
3. Acceptable use
- Don't use Recombinant to generate content that harms people, incites violence, or breaks the law.
- Don't scrape, mass-download, or attempt to re-identify other users' content.
- Don't misrepresent AI-generated hybrids as fully verified inventions — they are starting points, not finished designs.
4. Accounts & collaboration
Sign-in is optional. When you sign in, we store an account record so we can attach your ideas and worlds to you. Worlds are private by default; you must explicitly turn on public sharing. Public worlds are readable and editable by any signed-in user with the link — treat them like a shared whiteboard.
5. Privacy
We store the account identifier from your sign-in provider, the concepts, purposes and ideas you save, and the worlds you create. Prompts you send to the AI are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. We do not sell your data.
You can delete individual ideas and worlds from the app. For full account deletion, contact the app owner.
6. AI output disclaimer
Hybrids are generated by a language model and may be inaccurate, speculative, or reference things that do not exist yet. Verify anything you plan to build, publish or rely on.
7. Changes
These terms may evolve as the app grows. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
